Travel subsidy available for UKERC summer school

Application Deadline: March 17, 2013
Summer School: July 7-12, 2013

CMC is offering travel subsidies of up to $2000 to three HQP  interested in attending the UK Energy Research Centre’s ninth annual Energy Summer School at the University of Warwick in the English Midlands.

There is no charge to attend the school and the UKERC will provide accommodations and all meals and supplies for the school.

The travel subsidy offer is open only to PhD students working on CMC-funded research.

The school has been specifically designed to give second year PhD students an opportunity to look beyond their own research and develop an understanding of energy systems as a whole and pathways to low-carbon and resilient energy systems. Applications are welcome from those engaged in energy-related research including technical, physical, social, economic, environmental and business aspects of energy and energy systems.

There are 100 places available for UK and international students. In order to receive the CMC travel subsidy, students must apply and be accepted to attend the school. Subsidies will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

Students cannot apply themselves to the school. They must be nominated by their supervisor to attend.
