Ian Gates, University of Calgary Engineering professor and CMC-funded researcher, recently received one of five Killam Research and Teaching Awards. The award were created in 2010 to honor outstanding teaching and researcher.
Ian was given the award in recognition of outstanding contributions to innovative teaching methods. He demonstrated innovation in course design and/or teaching strategies/pedagogical practices over a number of years, primarily, but not exclusively, at the undergraduate level; and, commitment to student learning, with emphasis on using innovative and novel approaches in course design and pedagogical practices that promote student learning and a positive student experience.
