CMC Research Institutes, Inc. was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation under federal statutes in 2013. It was also registered in 2016 in British Columbia as an extra-provincial non-share corporation. The company is hosted by the University of Calgary and is located in University Research Park.
Key governing bodies
CMC’s principal governing bodies are its Board of Directors, its Audit, Risk, Governance and Human Resources Committee and the Research and Innovation Management Committee.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance of the network and members. As foremost experts in their fields, the directors provide invaluable advice. Board members are drawn from academic, industry, government, and NGO sectors in Canada and internationally.
The Audit Risk, Governance and Human Resources Committee oversees the financial and operations functions. The VP Finance and Operations and the Accountant are both experienced CPA, CMAs who ensure the organization follows professional accounting and business practices and ensure the quality of its financial reporting to external stakeholders.
